Anton Henry Steinkamp 1900-1983

ARCADIA—Mass of the Christian Burial for Anton H. Steinkamp, 82, a retired farmer, will be concelebrated at 1:30 p.m., Friday, February 4, at St. John church in Arcadia with the Revs. C. A. Ahmann and Richard Birdsall as celebrants.

Mr. Steinkamp died Tuesday, February 1, at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll.

Burial will be in St. Bernard parish cemetery in Breda with Fr. Birdsall officiating.

Visitation at the Twit Funeral Home in Carroll will be after 7 p.m. Thursday. Rosaries will be recited at 7:30 p.m. by Fr. Ahmann and at 8:30 p.m. by Fr. Birdsall.

Mr. Steinkamp is survived by a daughter, Bonnie Steinkamp, Arcadia; sisters: Mrs. Henry (Theresa) Kramer, Glidden; Mr. Andrew (Elizabeth) Thobe, Carroll; Mrs. Joe (Mary) Kohorst, Arcadia, and Mrs. Hilbert (Agnes) Eischeid, Manning; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary, on February 26,1979, and four brothers: Joe, Walter, Leonard and Fred.

Mr. Steinkamp was born May 21, 1900 at Breda, a son of Ferdinand and Mary Nieland Steinkamp. He was married to Mary Kohorst on February 4, 1925 at St. John church in Arcadia. He had lived on the farm two miles east of Arcadia since 1939.
