Mass of the Christian burial for Arlene A. Reis, a Carroll native, was celebrated Thursday, Nov. 15, at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Odebolt. Burial was at St. Martin's Catholic Cemetery in Odebolt.
Mrs. Reis, 59, died Monday, Nov. 12, 1990, at Buena Vista County Hospital in Storm Lake, after a year-long illness.

Father Richard Birdsall officiated at the services. Casket bearers were Kevin Reis, Danny Reis, Allan Olerich, Scott Williams, Kenneth Loneman and Steve Killeen. Farber and Otteman Funeral Home in Odebolt was in charge of arrangements.

Born March 25, 1931 in Carroll, she was a daughter of John J. and Mary (Thede) Batta. On April 18, 1950, she was married to Delmar T. Reis at St. Lawrence Church in Carroll. She was a member of the St. Martin's Ladies Guild and the Odebolt-Arthur Athletic Boosters. She worked at Bil Mar Foods.

She is survived by her husband, Delmar of Odebolt; five sons, Mike Reis and his wife, Lucy, of Fullerton, Neb., Pat Reis and his wife, Becky, of Odebolt, Tom Reis and his wife, Teresa, of Ames, Ted Reis and his wife, Diane, of Omaha, Neb., and Mark Reis and his wife, Tandy, of Odebolt; one daughter, Deanna Kelly of Storm Lake; 18 grandchildren; a sister, Shirley Schachtrier of Carroll; a brother, Frank Batta of Minneapolis, Minn.; and a daughter-in-law, Terri Reis of Hot Springs, Ark.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Tim Reis.
