FORMERLY BERTHA NIELAND, PASSED AWAY AT ALTON FRIDAY MORNING

Funeral services were held at St. Mary's church in Alton at 9:30 o'clock Monday morning for Mrs. Arthur Braun, 55 of Alton, nee Bertha Mary Nieland, who passed away in her sleep at her home Friday morning.

Rev. Zeno Reising, pastor of St. Mary's parish at Alton, offered the requiem mass and officiated at committal rites in the parish cemetery.

Bertha Mary Nieland was born April 28, 1897, on a farm near Breda, and was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Nieland. She was married to Arthur Braun at St. Bernard's church in Breda, January 20, 1925.

Mrs. Braun was a graduate of St. Anthony Hospital School of Nursing at Carroll.

She is survived by her husband and six children, Leo, Granville; Rosemary, Mrs. Cyril Ortmann, LeMars; Kathleen, Mrs. Milton Delperdang, Margaret, Mrs. Gilbert Schreier, Marcus; Arthur, Jr., Alton; Thomas, at home.
