Bret Allan Boes 1966-1986

Bret A. Boes, 19, of Burlington, Iowa, formerly of Carroll, died of accidental suffocation Thursday, February 20, 1986.

A former announcer for Radio Station KCIM in Carroll, he was currently employed by Radio Station KCPS in Burlington.

Mass of the Christian Burial was concelebrated at 1 p.m. Monday, February 24, at Holy Spirit church in Carroll, with the Revs. Roger Augustine, V.G., and other priests as concelebrants. John Boes was lector; gift-bearers were brothers and sisters, Robby, Corry and Michelle Boes and Carla Losh, and mass-servers, Eric Boes, Jason Dorpinghaus and Kirby Underberg.

Mr. Boes is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Boes, Carroll; two sisters; Mrs. Carla (Greg) Losh, Council Bluffs, and Michelle Boes, Carroll; two brothers: Robby Boes and Cory Boes, both of Carroll; and his grandparents: Mr. and Mrs. Leo Heithoff, Carroll, and Mrs. Nina Boes, Breda.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Leonard Boes.

Bret Boes was born in Carroll on May 5, 1966, a son of Thomas and Karen Heithoff Boes. He graduated from Kuemper High School in 1984 and from Brown Institute in Minneapolis, MN, in 1985. He had lived in Burlington for about a year.
