Christopher William Wolterman 1978 - 1987

Mass of the Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16, at Holy Spirit Church in Carroll for Christopher Wolterman, 8, of Des Moines and formerly of Carroll. He died Saturday evening, Sept. 12, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines from injuries received in a playground accident in Carroll.

The Rev. Mervin Hood will celebrate the Mass. Burial will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Carroll. Lector at the Mass will be his aunt, Marge Wolterman. Gift bearers will be his father, mother and brother. Casket bearers will be his uncles, John Wolterman, Gary Wolterman, Randy Kult and Ken Kult. Visitation will begin at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll. Rosaries will be recited at 3 and 8 p.m. Tuesday, the latter by Holy Spirit Parish.

Born Oct. 21, 1978, in Carroll, he was a son of James and Jane (Kult) Wolterman. For the past 3 ½ years he had lived In Des Moines, where he was a third-grade student at Lovejoy Elementary School.

He is survived by his father, James Wolterman of Carroll; mother, Jane Wolterman of Des Moines; brother, Thomas Wolterman, of Des Moines; grandparents, Wilbur and Helen Wolterman of Carroll and Bernard and Elaine Kult of Cherokee; and great-grandparents, William S. Becker of Perry, Loretta Happe of Carroll and Gladys Kult of Glidden.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Jerome Wolterman.
