Daryl J. O’Tool 1946-1996

Funeral services for Daryl J. O’Tool, 49, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18, 1996, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Glenwood, Iowa.

Mr. O’Tool, of Omaha, Neb., and a Carroll native, and his son Kevin, 13, of Emerson, Iowa. Died Saturday, Sept. 14, when a pickup truck Mr. O’Tool was driving collided with an Amtrak train in Sarpy County, Neb.

Father Paul Monahan will officiate the services.

Burial will be in the Hastings, Iowa, Cemetery.

Born Nov. 29, 1946, in Carroll, Mr. O’Tool was a son of Wilmer P. and Rosina [Reising] O’Tool.

He graduated from Kuemper High School in 1964 and attended the University of Iowa. He was a construction supervisor who specialized in site preparation. Mr. O’Tool is survived by his daughter, Erin O’Tool, a student at Iowa State University; a son, Shaun O’Tool, of Omaha; his mother, Rosina, of Carroll; his brothers, Arlen O’Tool of Coon Rapids, Richard O’Tool of Lake View, Joe O’Tool of Alpha, Ill., Ralph O’Tool of Malvern, Stanly O’Tool of Scottsdale, Ariz., Frank and Jim O’Tool, both of Carroll, and Dan O’Tool of Houston, Texas; his sisters, Marva Jean Louis of Colorado Springs, Colo., Clara Fiebelkorn and Jeanette Holmes, both of Carroll, Mary Scott of Ames, Betty Kurtz of Bettendorf, Barb Karstens of Bryan Texas, and Jane Ann Podewils of Carnarvon.

He was preceded in death by his father, Wilmer P. O’Tool.
