Hilbert William "Hib" Eischeid  1918-1998

MANNING - Mass of the Christian burial for Hilbert William "Hib" Eischeid of Manning will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct.7, 1998, at Sacred Heart Church in Manning.

Mr. Eischeid, 80, a former Carroll County supervisor, died Sunday, Oct. 4, 1998 at his home.

The Rev. James McAlpin will officiate the Mass. Lector will be R.T. Schreck. Gift bearers will be Connie Segebart, Carla Eischeid and Roxanne Tigges.

Casket bearers will be Kenneth Eischeid, Donald, Eischeid, Larry Eischeid, Randy Tigges, Rusty Tigges, Robbie Tigges, Brian Eischeid and Bradley Eischeid.

Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery at Manning.

A son of Theodore and Anna (Wittrock) Eischeid, he was born Aug.22, 1918, at his parents home near Halbur. After attending St. Augustine School in Halbur, Mr. Eischeid worked on his family's farm.

He and Agnes Steinkamp were married Oct. 1, 1940, at St. Bernard Church in Breda. They lived near Halbur for two years then moved to a farm north of Manning. They later purchased a farm in that area.

When he retired from farming in 1973 the Eischeids moved into Halbur. Tow years later they moved to Manning.

Mr. Eischeid served as supervisor from 1976 to 1981.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Parish in Manning.

Survivors include his wife, Aggie, of Manning; three children and their spouses: Roger and Diane Eischeid of Manning, Diane and Virgil Tigges of Carroll and Gary and Marie Eischeid of Manning; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, Ted Eischeid, Jr., and his wife Jeanette, of Halbur; five sisters: Lorine Sextro of Denison, Florence Gephart of Carroll, Louise Boeckman and her husband, Cecil, of Early, Irma Fast of Bingham Lake, Minn., and Marie Schreck and her husband, Elmer, of Tempelton.

Mr. Eischeid was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Tillie Busenbark; three brothers; Leonard, Eischeid, Louis Eischeid and Alvin Eischeid; and three brothers-in-law: Frank Sextro, Cato Gephart, and Pete Fast.
