Irwin J. Brincks 1940-2005

Irvin Brincks died Monday, July 25, 2005, at St. Anthony Hospital in Carroll at the age of 65. Irvin was born January 26, 1940, at rural Carroll, the son of Anton and Clara (Huelsing) Brincks. He attended St. Joseph School in Carroll. Irwin spent his lifetime in the Carroll community and was a grain and livestock farmer southeast of Carroll.

He entered the U.S. Army in April 1963 and served overseas in France during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged in March 1965.

Irwin and Linda Venteicher were married on July 20, 1985, at Holy Spirit Church in Carroll. The couple made their home on the farm until April 2002 when they moved to their home in Carroll.

He was a member of Holy Spirit Parish and Carroll America Legion. Irwin enjoyed farming, raising hogs, collecting movies, gardening and fixing machinery.

He is survived by his wife, Linda; step-son Jeremy (Rita) Dillingham; one step-grandchild; brothers, Delbert (Dolora) Brincks, Melvin (Marlene) Brincks, and LeRoy (Darlene) Brincks; sister, Alvina (Wayne) Poeppe, Mary Ann Schlichte, Bernice (LaVern) Halbur, and Rose Mary (Charles) martin; father and mother-in-law, Paul and Dorothy Venteicher, and many sisters and brother-in-law. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Shirley Brincks.
