Mass of the Christian burial for Jerome J. Hannasch will be at 9:30 a.m., Monday, Dec. 1, 1997, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bellechester, Minn.

Mr. Hannasch, 71, died Wednesday, Nov. 26, 1997, at his home in Bellechester.

A second burial Mass will take place at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 2, at Holy Spirit Church in Carroll. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Carroll. The Rev. James McCormick will preside at the services.

Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. Monday at Twit Funeral Home in Carroll. A rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

A son of John and Leota (Murphy) Hannasch, he was born June 25, 1926, in Carroll. Mr. Hannasch served with the Army during World War II. He worked for a record 49 years at 21st Century Genetics and was awarded the 100,000 Achievement Award by the National Association of Animal Breeders.

He and Joan M. Wittry were married July 25, 1954 at SS. Peter and Paul Church in Carroll. The two lived in Carroll until 1979, when they moved to Bellechester. Mr. Hannasch was a member of the American Legion and Knights of Columbus for 50 years.

Mr. Hannasch is survived by his wife, Joan; two daughters, Jane Walter and her husband, Gary, and Mary Donnelly and her husband, Randy; six sons, Michael Hannasch and his wife, Valerie, Tom Hannasch and his wife, Sue, Mark Hannasch and his wife, Sharon, Dick Hannasch and his wife Kay Lampe, Roch Hannasch and his wife, Lori, and Jim Hannasch and his wife Linda; a stepson, Gerri Kraus and his wife, Terri Cole, six brothers, Claire Hannasch and his wife, Lota, Charles Hannasch and his wife, Dorothy, Paul Hannasch and his wife, Shirley, Arthur Hannasch and his wife, Rachel, George Hannasch and his wife, Jan, and John Hannasch; three sisters, Marcella Kanne and her husband, James; Mary Elaine Milbauer and her husband, Richard, and Caroline Hermsen; and two sisters-in-law, Leone Buelt and her husband, Leo, and Sister Pauline Wittry.

Mr. Hannasch was preceded in death by two children, Patrick and Teresa; a stepson, LeRoy Kraus; and his parents.
