The Breda News, May, 1959 Joseph Boes, 74, lifelong resident of the Breda community passes away at St. Anthony hospital at 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, following a short illness. The body is resting at the Twit Funeral Home in Carroll where the rosary will be recited at 8:00 p.m. tonight, and again Thursday night at 8 o'clock. Funeral services will be held at St. Bernard church in Breda at 9:30 a.m. Friday. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. He was born August 20, 1884, and was married to Appolonia Walz on January 28, 1913, at St. Bernard's church in Bread with Fr. G.H. Lueschrman officiating. Mr. Boes is survived by his widow and nine children. Mrs. Arnold Ziegman (Edna), Lake View; Mrs. Wilburn Trammel (Ermina), Des Moines; Mrs. Johanna Green, Des Moines; Mrs. Stanley, Eischeid, (Alvina), Bayard: Cyril Boes, Carroll; Vincent Boes, Muscatine; Mrs. Edwin Buelt, (Hilda), Muscatine; Rufus Boes, Breda; Miss Annabelle Boes, Des Moines; Two sons died in infancy. He is also survived by 43 grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Leon Schulte, (Katie), and Mrs. Clara Reising, both of Breda. Mr. Boes was preceded in death by three brothers,
John, Theodore and henry Boes, and three sisters, Mrs. Dora Mueggenberg
[sic] and Mrs. Ida Grabner.
