After Don's discharge from the Air Force in 1967, Judy, Don and their baby daughter Deborah moved to Bellflower, California. She loved tending her garden. One of Judy's favorite sayings was: "To Plant a Garden Is To Believe In Tomorrow". She knew the name of almost every plant under the sun. She especially loved the English-garden look so when she and Don remodeled their garden in 2002, she carefully designed one for their yard. She tenderly maintained her colorful displays of many varieties of roses, annuals, climbing vines, as well as her many different herbs and fruit trees. She also designed and planted many beautiful Fairy Gardens for her home and friends. She passed on the art of making Fairy Gardens to her daughter.
