LACROSSE,
Wis.- Sister Mary (Fidelma) Koester, F.S.P.A., 78, a native of Willey,
Iowa, died Monday, November 26, at Villa St. Joseph in LaCrosse
in the 54th year of her religious profession.
Mass of the Christian Burial was celebrated at 9 a.m.,
at Mary of the Angels Chapel in St. Rose Convent. Burial was in
the Catholic cemetery in LaCrosse.
Sister Fidelma is survived by two brothers, George
Koester and William Koester, Carroll; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers:
John, George and Theodore and five sisters: Clara, Josephine, Margaret,
Anna, Rose, the latter Sister Silvana.
Sister Fidelma was born July 14, 1906, at Willey,
a daughter of William and Christina Wibben Koester. She attended
St. Mary School in Willey and entered St. Rose Convent in 1929.
She served as a homemaker in various convents in Wisconsin and Iowa,
including Carroll. She retired to Villa St. Joseph in 1976.

Sister Mary Koester
Sister Mary Koester, 78, a Franciscan Sister of Perpetual
Adoration, died Monday, Nov. 26, 1984, in Villa St. Joseph.
She was born on July 14, 1906 in Willey, Iowa, to
William and Christina (Hibben) Koester.
She entered the Franciscan community on June 28, 1927,
and had been a homemaker for 46 years in convents located in Iowa
and Wisconsin, including Auburndale, Blenker, Eau Galle and St.
Joseph Home and St. Rose Convent, both in La Crosse.
The Eucharistic Liturgy of Resurrection will be Wednesday
at 9 a.m. in Mary of the Angels Chapel at St. Rose Convent, La Crosse.
The Rev. William Mayer will officiate. Burial will be in the Catholic
Cemetery.
Friends may call at the convent today from 7 to 9
p.m., with a prayer service at 7:14 p.m.
