Ralph E. Schulte passed away on Tuesday at his home.

Funeral services will be Friday, May 6, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home and 10:30 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church with the Rev. Sunny Dominic and Rev. Shane Deman con-celebrating at the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be in Corpus Christi Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday at the funeral home from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a vigil at 7:00 p.m. followed by a rosary.

Ralph is survived by his wife, Becky, and children; Susan (Tim) Doyle, Scott (Ann) Schulte both of Fort Dodge; Thomas (Christine) Schulte, John Schulte both of Omaha, NE; Anthony and his fiancé Christy Halligan of Fort Dodge; and Timothy (Melissa) Schulte of Chicago, IL; 9 grandchildren; brothers, Leon (Nancy) of Westside; Myron (Shari) of Auburn; Joseph (Patty) of Omaha, NE; Gary (Mary Ann) of Westside; sisters, Janet (Leonard) Baumhover of Auburn; Lois (Jack) Hinners of Halbur, Margy (Dale) Renner of Des Moines; Annette (Edwin) Haberl , and Kathleen (Lee) Stein both of Carroll.

Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, Ronald and Amelia (Huegerich) Schulte, and a grandson, Samuel Schulte.

Ralph Edward Schulte was born November 24, 1943 in Carroll. He attended and graduated from Trinity Prep High School in Sioux City. He then graduated from Loras College with a Bachelors of Arts in Teaching and he received his Masters of Social Work from the University of Iowa, in 1971. On November 9, 1968, Ralph was united in marriage to Becky Spence at Sacred Heart Church in LaPorte City. The couple established their home in Independence; where Ralph had started working at the Mental Health Institute in 1966.

In 1975 the couple moved to Fort Dodge, where Ralph worked for A.E.A as a family therapist, social worker, and a supervisor. In 2002, Ralph went to St. Edmond High School where he worked as a resource teacher until 2011. Ralph was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 613, a past president of the Parish Council and member for 8 years, spent six years on the St. Edmond School Board, 15 years teaching C.C.D, past member of the Iowa School Worker Association; past member of Child Abuse Committee; was presented with the Iowa High School Social Workers of the Year Award in 1995; and had been a Boy Scout Den Leader.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
