Randy Robert Becker 1954 - 1982

Mass of the Christian Burial for Randy Robert Becker, 28, of Des Moines, formerly of Carroll, was celebrated at 1:30 p.m. Monday, July 25, at Holy Spirit church in Carroll with the Rev. Roger Augustine, V.F. as celebrant.

Mr. Becker died Friday morning, July 22 of a heart ailment at his home, 5046 Fifty -First Street in Des Moines. He was a meat cutter for Dahl's Food Store on Hubbell Avenue in Des Moines.

An uncle, Gary Becker, was lector for the mass. Mass servers were Todd and Joel Danner and Doug Dailey. Burial was in the Carroll cemetery. Serving as casket bearers were Richard Heisterkamp, Jeff Halbur, Joe Halbur, Mike Brincks, Jim Logan and Rick Burns.

Rosaries were recited at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll on Sunday at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. by the parish and at 8:45 p.m.

Mr. Becker is survived by his parents, William G. and Mary Lou Becker of 203 North Maple street; two brothers: William D. and Jeff Becker, both of Carroll, and grandfathers: Dan Headlee, Carroll, and William S. Becker, Dunlap.

He was preceded in death by his grandmothers: Mrs. Marion Headlee and Mrs. Amelia Becker.

Mr. Becker was born December 9, 1954, in Carroll, a son of William G. and Mary Lou (Headlee) Becker. He attended the former SS. Peter and Paul school in Carroll and graduated from Kuemper High School in 1973. During his high school years, he worked at the Super-Valu store in Carroll. After graduating from high school, he attended Des Moines Area Community College in Ankeny for two years and started working for Dahl's Food Stores as a meat-cutter. He worked in the Hubbell Avenue store for nine years. He was a member of Holy Spirit parish in Carroll.
