Roger F. Thelen 1939-1992

Roger F. Thelen, 52, of Homer, Neb., died at his residence on Saturday, March 14, 1992, after a long illness.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 17, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in south Sioux City, Neb., with Father Thomas D. Backer officiating.

Mr. Thelen was born April 22, 1939, in Carroll, a son of Math and Philomena (Boes) Thelen. He was a graduate of St. Bernard High School in Breda.

From 1957-61, Mr. Thelen served in the Air Force.

On May 4, 1963, he married Mary L. Jones in Breda. They moved to Omaha prior to moving to Homer 17 years ago.

He is survived by his wife, Mary of Homer; three sons, David and his wife, Robyn, of Fort Rucker, Ala., John and his wife, Charla, of Homer, and Adam, at home; two daughters, Sheri and her husband, R. J. Norris, of Homer, and Amy, at home; four grandchildren, Brandon and Matthew Thelen and Randy and Craig Norris; five brothers, Merlin of Omaha, Lenus and Allan, both of Carroll, Wayne of Marble Falls, Texas, and Delmar of Fort Dodge, Iowa, five sisters, Elsie Hausman and Myra Stangl, both of Carroll, Lois Vogt of Omaha, Janet Overgaard of Hendersonville, N.C., and Nancy Pudenz of Auburn, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Linda Lou.
