BAYTOWN, TEXAS

Ryan Peter O'Tool, 28, of Baytown died Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2006, at his home.

Mass of the Christian burial was held Monday, Oct. 30, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Bayard with the Rev. Michael G. Peters presiding.

Urn bearers were Patrick O'Tool, Wil O'Tool, Clancy O'Tool, Casey O'Tool, Billy Olesen and Bobbe Olesen. Honorary urn bearers were Jonathan Bianchi, Zachary Derry, Levi Derry, Darius O'Tool, Cooper O'Tool, Kyle Abernathy, Clay Abernathy and Alex Abernathy.

Burial was in Orange Township Cemetery south of Coon Rapids.

Ohde Funeral Home of Coon Rapids was in charge of arrangements.

A son of Arlen O'Tool and Pamela Murphy, he was born Oct. 8, 1978, at Guthrie Center and attended school at Bayard and then Coon Rapids-Bayard.

Mr. O'Tool worked in various positions for Farmland, Farner-Bocken Co. and Burke Industries in before moving to Baytown, near Houston, Texas, in May 2004. He then was a supervisor for a distribution company.

He enjoyed training German shepherd dog Shady, was interested in philosophy and Eastern religions, and was involved with a meditation group in Texas.

Survivors include his father, Arlen O'Tool, and his wife, Barbara, of Coon Rapids; his mother, Pamela Murphy, of Stuart; a grandmother, Rosina O'Tool, of Carroll; and 12 siblings: Faith Laboy and husband Jose of Stuart, Becky Bianchi and husband Tim of Mitchellville, Pat O'Tool and wife Stacy of Carroll, April Tigges and husband Mark of DeSoto, Wil O'Tool and wife Amy of Cedar Rapids, Clancy O'Tool and wife Becky of Carroll, Casey O'Tool and wife Anna of Des Moines, Jodi Faga of Byron, Ga., Laurie Christianson and husband Lee of New Richmond, Wis., Billy Olesen and wife Melany of Ogden, Bobbe Olesen and husband Don of Olathe, Kan., and Don Olesen and wife Norma of Bayard.

Mr. O'Tool was preceded in death by his grandparents: Homer and Betty Murphy, and Wilmer O'Tool.
