STILLWATER, Okla.—Victoria Rooney-Mueggenborg, 91, of Tarpon Springs, Florida, died on Monday, Oct. 25, 2010 in Safety Harbor, Fla. A rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 5, 2010 at Saint Francis Xavier Parish in Stillwater, Okla.  Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010 at Saint Francis Xavier Parish, with Father Kenneth J.  Harder and The Reverend Msgr. Daniel Mueggenborg officiating.  Interment will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery.  Strode Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

She was born on June 17, 1919 in Wailuku, Maui, Hawaii, to Joseph Baptiste Souza, Sr. and Mary Estrella De Costa Pimentel Souza.  She married Mitchell Edward Rooney on June 5, 1938 in Honolulu, Oahu, Hawaii.  He preceded her in death.  On Dec. 8, 1996, she married Paul B. Mueggenborg in Stillwater, Okla.

She attended San Diego Business School and was a legal secretary.  She was a member of Saint John the Evangelist Parish in Stillwater.  She was also a member of the Servants of Devine Mercy Fraternity, Secular Franciscans.  After retirement, she served Ombudsman for a Stillwater nursing home.  She was active in the local Catholic parishes and was instrumental in starting the Our Lady’s Prayer Group in Stillwater.  She was a devoted prayer warrior, painter, writer, wife, mother, and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, five siblings, and one grandchild.

She is survived by one daughter, Rhoda Easley and husband, Les, of Tarpon Springs, Florida; four stepsons and three stepdaughters; three grandchildren, Michael Easley and wife, Becky; Carrie Easley Mitchell and husband, Mitch; and Joseph Easley and wife, Lucy; eight great-grandchildren, Kendra, Tyson, Leslie, Samantha, Madeline, Jessica, Collin and Isabel; nine great-great-grandchildren, Dylan, Tyshaun, Jimmy, J.J., Jett, Scotty, Rory, and Robbie; and three sisters, Mary, Caroline, and Shirley.
